Development in May 2019 in comparison with April 20191)

Turnover increased, month-on-month, in information and communication by 1,6 %, transportation and storage by 1,4 %, industry by 0,6 %, in selected market services by 1 %. It decreased in construction by 2,4 % and industry by 0,6 %.

Development in May 2019 compared with May 2018

Turnover in industry increased by 1,6 %. The development by the SK NACE sections was affected by increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 13,4 %; mining and quarrying by 9,5 %;  in manufacturing by 2,1 % and by decrease in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 4,4 %.  In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, which contributed at most to the total turnover increase, the most significant growth was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment by 14,7 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 7,7 %, water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 13,4 %; mining and quarrying by 9,5 % and in manufacture of electrical equipment by 1,3 %. Turnover decreased mostly in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 22,4 %,  manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 26,1 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 3,9 %, , in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 4,4 % and in manufacture of chemicals a chemical products by 15,5 %.

Turnover in construction increased by 3,9 %.

Turnover in transportation and storage2) increased by 3,6 %. The rise was recorded in most activities, most considerably in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 10,6 % and in postal and courier activities by 11 %. Turnover decreased only in land transport and transport via pipelines.

Turnover in information and communication3) increased, year-on-year, by 10,3 % affected mostly by higher turnover in computer programming by 16,9 % and in motion picture, video and television programme production by 70 %.  It dropped only in publishing activities.

In selected market services4), total turnover increased by 13,7 %. Turnover rose in most activities, most considerably in gambling and betting activities by 15,2 %, administrative, office support and other business support activities by 13 %, real estate activities by 14,6 %. It decreased only in travel agencies and tour operator activities and in rental and leasing activities.

Development over the first five months of 2019 in comparison with the same period in 2018

Total turnover in industry increased by 6,6 %. The development by the sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 13,8 %; manufacturing by 8,2 %; mining and quarrying by 6,6 % and by drop in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 4,9 %.  In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, turnover increased mostly in manufacture of transport equipment by 22,8 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 8,5 %, manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco products by 5,7 %, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 8,3 % and in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 13,8 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year, in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 5 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 4,9 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 9,2 %, manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 8,1 %, manufacture of chemicals  and chemical products by 5,1 % and in manufacture of wood and paper products, printing by 2,3 %.

Turnover in construction enterprises increased by 5,1 %.

Turnover in transportation and storage rose, year-on-year, by 4,9 % affected by higher turnover in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 10,6 % and in postal and courier activities by 11,5 %. It dropped only in land transport and transport via pipelines.

Total turnover in information and communication increased by 10,2 %. It rose, year-on-year, in all activities, most considerably in computer programming by 12 %,  telecommunication by 8,1 % and in  information service activities by 10,6 %.

In selected market services, turnover increased by 11,5 %. Increase was affected by higher turnover in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 15,7 %, gambling and betting activities by 10,9 % and legal and accounting activities by 9,9 %. Turnover dropped only in architectural and engineering activities.
