New orders in industry in March 2023 rose by double digits

In March, the value of new orders in industry increased by 12.8% year-on-year and reached a volume¹⁾ of EUR 6.48 billion, month-on-month, after seasonal adjustment, new orders in industry increased by 3.7% in March.²⁾

New orders rose for the second consecutive month, and the year-on-year growth rate doubled in March compared to the previous month, while their volume rising in 5 of the 12 monitored sectors of industry.

Orders increased year-on-year the most in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, manufacture of apparel and manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment. Orders decreased year-on-year mainly in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, manufacture of paper and paper products, and manufacture of electrical equipment.
