In September compared with  August consumer prices increased by 0,1 % in total.  Prices rose in the divisions of education by 3,9 %;clothing and footwear by 0,9 %; transport by 0,7 %; food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0,4 %; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; miscellaneous goods and services equally by 0,3 %; health by 0,2 %. Prices dropped in restaurant and hotels by 1,8 %; recreation and culture by 1,1 %. Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco; furniture and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance; communications remained at the level of August.

An increase of food prices by 0,4 % was affected by higher prices of fruit by 2 %; meat by 1,3 %; bread and cereals; milk, cheese and eggs equally by 0,7 %. Prices of vegetables (including potatoes) decreased by 3,2 %; fish by 0,9 %; sugars, jam, honey, syrups, chocolates and confectionary by 0,6 %;oils and fats by 0,4 %.

Prices of non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0,7 % (prices of mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices rose by 1,4 %, prices of coffee, tea and cocoa dropped by 0,2 %).

Higher prices of fruit were caused by higher prices of tangerines by 12,1 %, oranges by 10,7 %, kiwi by 7,4 %, apples by 4,2 %, red watermelons by 2,2 %. Prices of table grapes dropped by 20,7 %, bananas by 1,3 %, lemons by 1,9 %. Higher prices of meat were affected by a price rise of pork meat by 2,4 %, poultry by 1,1 %, sausages by 1 %, beef meat by 0,8 %. Lower prices of vegetables were caused by a price drop of parsley by 18,3 %, cauliflower by 15,5 %, onion by 12,3 %, pepper by 7,6 %, carrot by 6,8 %, potatoes by 5,9 %, celery by 5,8 %, white cabbage by 5,4 %, salad cucumbers by 1,5 %. Prices of tomatoes rose by 5,2 % and garlic by 1,1 %.

In the division of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, prices of tobacco remained unchanged. Prices of alcoholic beverages rose by 0,1 % (prices of wine rose by 1,5 %, prices of beer dropped by 0,5 %, spirits by 0,3 %).

Higher prices in the division of clothing and footwear were affected by an increase in prices of footwear by 1,1 %; clothing by 0,8 %.

Higher prices in the division of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels were affected by a price increase of sewage collection by 1 %, imputed rentals of owner-occupiers; services for regular maintenance and repair of the dwelling equally by 0,6 %; other services related to the dwelling by 0,5 %; solid fuels by 0,3 %; materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling; refuse collection equally by 0,2 %. Prices of actual rentals paid by tenants; water supply; electricity; gas; heat energy remained at the level of the previous month.

In the division of  furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance prices of household textiles, household appliances, tools and equipment for house and garden remained unchanged. There was a price increase of furniture and furnishings, carpets and other floor coverings; glassware, tableware and household utensils equally by 0,4 %. Prices of goods and services for routine household maintenance dropped by 0,6 %.

A rise in prices in the health division was influenced by higher prices of hospital services by 0,6 %; medical products, medical appliances and equipment by 0,2 % (other medical products, therapeutic appliances and equipment  equally by 0,3 %, pharmaceutical products by 0,2 %); outpatient services by 0,1 % (middle medical staff services- thermal bath by 0,2 %, dental services by 0,1 %, prices of medical services were unchanged).

  price increase in  transport was caused by higher prices of transport service activities by 2,7 % (combined passenger transport by 16 %, other purchase transport service activities by 1,2 %, passenger transport by air by 0,3 %, prices of passenger transport by road remained unchanged); operation of personal transport equipment by 0,2 % (other services related to personal transport equipment by 0,8 %, maintenance and repair by 0,4 %, spare parts and accessories by 0,3 %, fuels and lubricants for personal transport by 0,2 %). Prices of purchase of transport equipment dropped by 1,1 % (second-hand motor vehicles by 2,1 %, new motor vehicles by 0,1 %, bikes by 0,1 %).

In the division of communication prices of postal and telephone services were unchanged. Prices of telephone equipment rose by 0,3 %.

Lower prices in the division of recreation and culture were affected by a decrease in prices of package holidays by 7,6 %, other major durables for recreation and culture – musical instruments, other recreational items and equipment for gardens and pets equally by 0,2 %, audiovisual and photographic technology by 0,1 %. Prices of recreational services and culture rose by 0,3 %. Prices of newspapers, books and stationary remained unchanged.

Higher prices in the education division were affected by an increase in prices of pre-primary and primary education by 9,7 % (fee in kindergarten by 10 %, fee for children school club-after school care club by 8,8 %); secondary education by 4,1 %;education not definable by level by 3 % (fee in primary school of arts by 4,8 %, fee for language lessons by 2,6 %, fee in language school by 1,4 %). Prices of tertiary education were unchanged.

A price drop in the division of restaurants and hotels was influenced by a decrease in prices of catering services by 2,1 % (prices of payment for meals in primary schools decreased by 82,9 %, prices of payment for meals in secondary schools rose by 9,5 %, in canteens by 4,1 %, prices of payment for meals in canteens for pensioners by 1,2 %, in restaurants and cafes by 0,8 %).  Prices of accommodation services rose by 0,7 %.

An increase in prices in the division of miscellaneous goods and services was influenced by higher prices of personal care by 0,5 %; personal effects n.e.c.by 0,2 %; other services n.e.c. by 0,1 %. Prices of social protection (payment in private nursery rose by 1,3 %, payment in day care center by 0,8 %, payment for care service dropped by 0,3 %); insurance (compulsory automobile insurance rose by 0,1 %); financial services n.e.c. remained at the level of August.

In September 2019 compared with September 2018, consumer prices increased by 2,9 % in total. Prices increased in the divisions of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 4,9 %; education by 4,8 %; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; miscellaneous goods and services equally by 3,8 %; alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 2,8 %; communication by 2,3 %; furniture and furnishings  and routine household maintenance by 1,8 %; health, restaurants and hotels by 1,3 %;  recreation and culture by 1,6 %; clothing and footwear by 0,9 %; transport by 0,4 %.

On average, over the first nine months of 2019 compared with the same period of 2018, consumer prices increased by 2,6 % in total. 

In September compared with August, index of consumer prices increased in households of employees by 0,1 %, in households of pensioners and in low-income households equally by 0,2 %.

In September 2019, index of consumer prices increased, year-on-year, in households of employees by 2,9 %, households of pensioners by 3,3 % and in low-income households by 3 %.

On  average, over the first nine months of 2019 compared with the same period of 2018, index of consumer prices increased in households of employees by 2,5 %, in household of pensioners by 3 % and in low-income households by 2,7 %.
